In one of my classes, we were supposed to come up with an app based off of a topic assigned to us. My team and I were assigned exploration, and I had the idea of having a ride sharing app that was different from Uber and Lyft. As a freshman living on campus without a car or a way to get around besides the bus, I found it hard to explore the world around me. I only ever rode the bus to get to the mall or to buy groceries. Whenever I wanted to go places, I had to walk, take the bus or mooch off of other friends that did have cars. Uber and Lyft are useful to get around when you don't have a car, but sometimes it can be expensive. With Karpool, you can head to your location while posting on our app so others could carpool with you and help pay for gas money. As a passenger, you could pay less than you would using other ride sharing apps while still heading to your location and making new friends. We didn't get everything fully functioning, but you can check out our work!
